Flipster 5k Fraudulence
Lured by free beer and food, the Flipsters (with Marshall subbing in for KMO) braved the not at all grid- like streets across the bay in Tampa and ran 5 kilometers (yay metric system!) with the Four Green Fields Runners Club. The most athletic flipsters (Peepers and Zach F.) awed runners and bystanders alike with their speed and form, and Marhsall and Zach H. hobbled across the finish line shortly after them. We appreciated the free food and finding a social event in Florida with a minimal amount of old people/retirees, but the free beer turned out to be a hoax. The Flipsters do not take slights like this lightly....

Bilbo Baggins had his posse of Dwarves, and together they conquered Smaug in the lonely mountain. What did this do for them? It brought renown, infamy, and brought the group closer. The Flipsters are seeking this same end and have decided to embark on their own tumultuous journey. In the dead of winter we are going to brave the bleak and piercing chill to conquer the Pinellas Trail. This 34 mile trail of pure repugnance is enough to curl the lips of most brave wayfarers. Are the Flipsters tough enough for the epic journey? We're about to find out.........

Flipsters
Flipsters (Florida Hipsters) represent an emerging social scene in St. Petersburg, Florida. While there is no exact definition of what constitutes a Flipster, Flipsters can typically be found drinking tea, wearing chacos, sporting worryingly low BMIs and playing shuffleboard on Friday nights. Although Flipster is short for Florida Hipster, they have no relationship to hipsters. In fact Flipsters relish being labeled as Flipsters, while hispters generally avoid being labeled hipsters.
It is rumored that a Flipster blog may soon be created, and that they will soon turn their attention toward St. Petersburg civic issues, particularly in regards to having St. Petersburg embrace the metric system. A vastly expanding membership and influence appears imminent.
