Flipster Performance on the Web

http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/view/KU9aeay0fvHtbu6c276P

Please go to that link and enjoy a Flipster performance we recorded last year. Tom A. will get in on this year's performance, I hope he is okay with the fact that Tom H. has taken all the really great nicknames for a Tom (T-Bone, Peeping Tom, Peepers).

"Whats up with stuff?!"

So i'd firstly like to announce that we do indeed have a new flipster. We scoured, looked in every nook and cranny, and used a gigantic sifter and finally found a new member deemed worthy of being the newest flipster. He even survived an epic hazing process which may or may not have involved a tea and biscuit eating/drinking competition, pin the tail on the donkey, and the old NES game Duck Hunt(specifically modded by replacing the ducks with actual hipsters spotted in and around the greater williamsburg neighborhood). His name is Tom Anderson or Mr. Anderson. I am still at work on creating a worthy nickname for him, TnA?!

Anywho new happenings for us in a further latitudinal direction from the other flipsters. On my front, not much new has happened. Just working hard at teaching in Harlem and riding my bike around lots. KO on the other hand is totally OUT OF CONTROL. As such I am still anxiously awaiting her long over due blog post. I hope she includes the words "whiskey" and "OTP".

Flipellaneous

I have only two brief updates but I second T-bone's motion to throw more material on our Flipster's Fliptastic blog.

1) While I am indeed a resident of North Carolina these days, I do not peddle moonshine or wear overalls. I am using the guise of an AmeriCorps volunteer to covertly and overtly spread the Flipster movement throughout central North Carolina. Unfortunately hipsterdom has already spread here, so I have my work cut out for me.

2) I have heard from many reliable sources that Zach Hall has been busy the last few months performing at various bars with his Lou Bega cover band, Mambo Number Jive, which was created after his failed Ace of Base cover band, We Saw The Sign. We will all have to accept that this is true unless Zach Hall explicitly writes on this blog that it is not.

What are the chances for a 2nd flipster fall retreat or 2nd Annual Flipsters Run in Sweaters at the Jingle Bell Run Event?

The dormant flipsters awake

Okay it has been wayyyyy to damn long since a flipster has made a post on this neglected webinar address. Soo with that said, I am going to make a concerted effort to get the crew back up and running and try at least to get something written out on a somewhat more regular basis. With that said, much has changed since the last flipster posting. Turd Ferg (Zach Ferguson) has moved up north but not quite as far north as NYC but north nonetheless. Zach has moved up to North Carolina, where im sure he's bootlegging moonshine, working on his beard, and before long will try to entice the rest of us flipsters that overalls are an acceptable form of fashion wearables (one strap, two straps, or strapless?). Katie O too has moved, but she has joined me up here in NYC. Soo far she is taking the city by storm, and is leaving behind a wake of sadness (poor boi's wishing they had a chance) only comparable to the Trail of Tears. Me, well I've started teaching in Harlem and am attending Grad School a la dusk. In the interim riding my bike and recruiting new flipsters. Teaching in Harlem is really a full frontal assault on mass flipster domination. At least in Harlem that is. Before long will be shuffle boarding at the Apollo and a tea lounge will be opening up on all corners. Its a life style thats truly alluring, I mean just take a gander at Retirement Homes. They know whats up, womanizing at the shuffleboard courts, having to take pee breaks every fifteen minutes (either due to the copious amount of tea consumption or an enlarged prostate), and bingo ragers on a nightly basis.

That aside, I think this blog should serve as a source to document our lives. Since only two of us are living in the same city currently. So with that said, Things in NYC are going great for me. Moved, temporarily, into an apt in Chelsea where there at least ten gay strip joints with in 100 ft of me at all times. Also meeting a ton of new interesting people and having an epic time while doing it. I'll be sure to provide more details in my next upcoming blog, but my 8th period class is about to start.

Come join us!

So like all other great clubs in history (Free Masons, The Rat Pack, and the Facebook Group entitled "I need 1000 members so i can.....") the Flipsters will eventually have to succomb to the unquenchable demand and start allowing more to enter our foray. So with this comes a few standards, something to act as the sifter for flipster acceptance. Us flipsters have social obligtions that include; drinking copious amounts of tea, shuffle boarding, bingo, etc that prohibit us from having the time to interview anyone that sends us a well worded CV and resume. So firstly, and this is probably the most important factor, if you dont have an aptitude or willingness to make somewhat frequent blog posts then please don't apply. Secondly, we do look favorably on those that wear Chaco's and Tees promoting some community event that you attended (I personally will favor those that wear Vibram 5 finger shoes). Finally, what we look for in a future potential flipster is that aura that we all give off. That certain thing that makes people say "whoa did you feel that? Felt like a pressure change or wait is that the smell of old...." whenever a flipster walks in a room. So if you feel like you qualify and are feeling particularly verbose today, then please put pen to paper and compose that epic cv. Who knows you may just be the next flipster.

P.S. I've heard some rumblings of a 9 yr old boy who lives on the upper east side that already dominates in risk and has a taste for espresso. He's also swooning women on his sail boat at dusk. If the rumors are true this could be our first flipster recruit!

Return of the Flipsters

A little known Flipster fact is that we hibernate in February. So that should explain the lack of blog posts. Some of us also like to use the month of February to challenge our immune systems with strep throat and other illnesses, or run/dog walk in bitterly cold weather. However, now that it's March the Flipsters can resume their slow but steady ascent to the pinnacle of St.Petersburg/NYC civic influence. We logically started off by getting the high score on the photo hunt game at the Cider House, a Flipster-approved bar/hangout spot in downtown St. Pete. We assume that our NYC representative, Peepers, will similarly find the coolest bar in Brooklyn and put the Flipster name at the top spot of the photo hunt game.

Looking forward we'd just like to say to all the potential Flipsters out there- thaw out your Chacos (or buy a pair) and get ready for a fliptastic spring.
